Barnes & Noble's Criterion 50% Off Sale Returns June 26–July 26
Barnes & Noble's semi-annual Criterion sale is back. The sale runs from June 26 through July 26, both in stores and online, with 50% off Criterion 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases. With Criterion list prices being fair but rarely cheap, this is the most reliable way to build a collection without paying full price.
The discount applies across the board. The sale covers Criterion's catalog, which spans Hollywood classics, international cinema, documentaries, independent films, and contemporary releases. Among the highlights this time around, featured titles include The Elephant Man, Network, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Killers of the Flower Moon, Hairspray, and Hud. The sale will also include several upcoming releases: Sentimental Value, Desperate Living, and John Singleton's Hood Trilogy.
New for this year, the event expands beyond discs. Barnes & Noble is including a selection of official Criterion merchandise — tote bags, a baseball cap, and a collectible Criterion Closet CandyCar — available online and at participating stores. Not every location stocks the full merch lineup, so call ahead if you're making a special trip. Barnes & Noble also remains the only retailer offering the complete Criterion Collection at select Showcase locations.
A few practical notes: sign up for the free Barnes & Noble membership before purchasing, since Rewards and Premium Members earn Stamps on qualifying purchases, with every 10 Stamps earning a $5 reward. Premium members ($39.99/year) may be able to stack an additional 10% off on top of the sale price online. Popular and limited-stock titles tend to sell through early, so don't wait until late in the month. The full selection is at the Barnes & Noble Criterion Collection page.
